The UK is on its way to achieve a digital vision

Agilisys has conducted a new report which shows that UK local authorities are increasingly adopting digital processes, with 40 per cent saying that they ‘not only had a clear vision for digital, but had already started digital service provision’.

In association with Digital by Default News, Agilisys orchestrated the survey among 463 organisations in both the public and private sectors to adequately assess the progress they are making on their digital journeys. The report, The State of the Digital Nation, considers the role of digital inclusion in adopting digital public services.

57 per cent of the respondents, on the other hand, said that there has been good progress, but significant opportunities to do more. Only three per cent said that they had not yet started their digital transformation journey.

Steven Beard, chief executive at Agilisys, said: “Whilst the report highlights that letting go of traditional ways of working is difficult, it is an essential part of the digital transformation process. In our work with the public sector we see organisations striving to encourage their staff to work more collaboratively and move away from functional silos. The drastic departure from existing workflow systems and processes that organisations have been accustomed to for several decades has to be handled with sensitivity and consensus building if it is to be successful.”
