Tavcom Training

Tavcom Training is proud to be recognised as the world’s leading provider of BTEC accredited technical security systems training. ‘Born’ in 1995, Tavcom Training was created to address a real gap in the security industry by providing BTEC-accredited and practical training courses to those ‘on the tools’.

Part of the Linx International Group (owned by Mitie plc) Tavcom’s unrivalled technical knowledge of our highly qualified tutors is complemented by ‘real world’ experience, equipping learners with an understanding of the latest generation of electronic security solutions and technology. We partner with some of the biggest names in the security industry including SSAIB, NSI, and The Security Institute delivering training to those of all levels and abilities.

Professional qualifications are essential for anyone seeking a career in the expanding security systems sector. Internationally recognised, we offer the most comprehensive range of BTEC accredited vocational qualifications in the world of electronic security systems. Our qualifications begin at beginner/intermediate level with BTEC level 2, followed by levels 3 and 4 for professional, concluding with BTEC Level 5 (advanced level). Learners are able to train in an entire area from beginner to advance, and finish with the knowledge to be able to work professionally and with integrity, confident in their ability.

Tavcom’s training is vendor-agnostic, teaching the core technical concepts rather than to benchmark one manufacturer against another. It is this focus that makes our training unique – we want each learner to be able to apply their knowledge to any technology.

We have over 100 training courses in our portfolio including: CCTV, access control, intruder alarms, fire training, IP Networking, and Optical Fibre. This means there is just about any technical training course that is right for you; the choice depends on your role, your goals, and your interests. We are proud of our team of account managers, each passionate about our courses and why we do what we do. They will talk about your career aspirations, your preferred way of learning, and walk you through choosing the right training for you. We are equipped to deliver training in a variety of ways depending on what suits your needs. This can be either through our state-of-the-art training centres in Hampshire or Shipley, online, or in-house private basis.

As well as our classroom courses, we deliver a vast range of bitesize and interactive online learning courses including a new CCTV Level 5 Diploma. For those who cannot attend scheduled courses in the UK, Tavcom offers a comprehensive service for an international clientele. Our fully qualified tutors can conduct standard courses or customised training anywhere around the globe. All equipment necessary for Tavcom’s own brand of hands-on tuition is made available at the venue. In recent years we have conducted many ‘in company’ courses in mainland Europe, the USA and the Middle East.

In our continued aim to drive standards in the technical security sector, we have created a national register by which trained security professionals can identify their skills and professional competency. This is called CTSP: Certified Technical Security Professional. CTSP first and foremost recognises competency of individuals fulfilling technical roles in the electronic security and fire systems sectors. This includes: Installation, Maintenance and Commissioning, Technicians/Engineers, Auditors and Consultants.
