Oxfordshire County Council are piloting an initiative to let EV owners charge their cars outside of their own home, which will initially benefit 500 residents who don’t have their own driveway.

Young Futures Hubs to support vulnerable young people
The government has announced that the first Young Futures Hubs will be set up and running later this year.
The hubs will bring community services together to help teenagers who face being dragged into violence and at risk of mental health challenges.
With a £2 million cash injection, eight hubs will launch later this year, and will be targeted in areas with high levels of knife crime and antisocial behaviour. 50 Young Future Hubs are set to be launched over the next four years.

Government teams up with Joe Wicks to encourage healthy living
The government has teamed up with Joe Wicks to inspire children to move more this summer.
An animated Activate series with five-minute episodes will combine animation with upbeat music to encourage children to enjoy short bursts of movement that easily fit into their day and can benefit their physical and mental health. 
The series has been co-created by Joe Wicks and Studio AKA (creators of Hey Duggee).
It is backed by the government's 10 Year Health Plan.

Natural England highlights benefits of outdoor healthcare
Natural England is funding healthcare courses for nurses, therapists and other healthcare professionals from across Sussex to make more use of outdoor settings in treating those with poor mental health.
Evidence suggests that being outside can help lead to lower blood pressure and a reduced risk of heart attacks and strokes.
Attendees will learn how to adapt treatments to new surroundings and how to use many years of inside experience and training outside.
Sessions are held of five months and the course carries a formal training accreditation.

Junior travel inspectors to boost active travel
A new initiative will see primary school children becoming junior active travel inspectors, with a new mission to help more kids cycle, walk, wheel, and scoot to schools. The trailblazing scheme will see children audit their school run on a new ‘kid-friendly app’ to boost health and safety, while reducing road congestion. It gives pupils the chance to shape their own travel to school, helping all children access safer, greener and more accessible walking and cycling routes to school.

Panel of young people to shape Youth Guarantee
A panel of young people with experience of being out of education, employment and training are set to help shape the Government's Youth Gurantee.
The new Youth Guarantee Advisory Panel is made up of 17 young people aged 18 to 24 and will meet regularly to discuss the biggest barriers they face to building their careers and advise what can be done to break these down.
The announcement comes as the latest data shows one in eight young people are currently not in education, employment or training.

The Welsh Government has announced that young people will be able to travel on buses for £1 from September.
Single fares will cost £1, with £3 day passes also available. 
From September the rate will apply to 16 to 21-year-olds, with the scheme extended to 5 to 15-year-olds from November.
