New investment and taskforce to help London reach net zero
The Mayor of London has announced new funding to cut carbon emissions in the capital and unveiled a taskforce to drive more green investment.
The dedicated Climate Finance Taskforce will be chaired by Dr Rhian-Mari Thomas OBE, Chief Executive of the Green Finance Institute and will bring together investors and stakeholders to develop strategies and solutions to unlock billions of pounds of private sector investment to help London reach net zero by 2030.

The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, and Michael R. Bloomberg, U.N. Secretary-General's Special Envoy for Climate Ambition and Solutions and Founder of Bloomberg L.P. and Bloomberg Philanthropies, have announced a £2.8m joint investment for the next phase of the air quality monitoring programme Breathe London.
The funding will help Londoners view real-time, hyperlocal air quality data in their area and take action to tackle air pollution.

£12m Green Roots Fund for green and blue spaces in London
The Mayor of London has launched a new fund, which will invest more than £12 million to make neighbourhoods across the capital greener, healthier and more climate resilient.
The new fund was launched at the start of London Climate Action Week - the largest city-wide climate event in Europe.
The fund will support the creation and improvement of London’s green and blue spaces, such as parks, community gardens, wetlands and rivers, including projects that will restore habitats for nature to thrive and could reintroduce lost species.

The government has published a Clean Energy Industries Sector Plan, designed to harness the opportunities that Britain present for clean energy.
The plan is hoped to create jobs and investment, with the government targeting at least a doubling of current investment levels across frontier Clean Energy Industries to over £30 billion per year by 2035.
The Spending Review confirmed the biggest programme of investment in homegrown energy in UK history.

Scottish Government sets out Public Service Reform Strategy
The Scottish Government has set out a new Public Service Reform Strategy intended to deliver the public services that people of Scotland deserve and need in the future.
Public Finance Minister Ivan McKee set out the strategy in parliament and also announced the intention to reduce spending on corporate functions across public bodies, including the Scottish Government, to deliver £1 billion of savings in five years.
