Publicly-owned train operators, LNER, TransPennine Express and Northern, are collaborating with Network Rail to launch a joint initiative to provide more options for those travelling across the North by making routes cheaper.

The government has launched five-year plans to improve the use of British Sign Language in individual departments, in a bid to remove barriers for Deaf ad disabled people.
The BSL Act requires the government to publish a report every three years to show how ministerial departments have promoted the use of BSL in communications. The latest report shows an increase in the use of BSL by government departments in public-facing communications since the first report in 2023.
The government has committed to publishing a report every year up to 2027.

The government has announced that Ofwat, the water regulator, is to be abolished and a new single, powerful regulator to be established to be responsible for the entire water system.
Ofwat will be abolished and its functions will be merged with water functions across the Environment Agency, Natural England and the Drinking Water Inspectorate in a new single regulator, in the biggest overhaul of the water sector since privatisation. 
At the moment, there are four separate regulators responsible for the water industry.

Applications have opened for £1.4 million of funding for Go! London – the capital’s biggest ever community sport fund.
Go! London is a five-year partnership between the Mayor, London Marathon Foundation, Sport England, London Marathon Events and London Sport. It will support community sport and physical activity initiatives.
Since its launch in 2023, the initiative has invested more than £8 million in over 200 grassroots sport and physical activity organisations. Total investment is expected to surpass £22 million across the partnership.
