Bury Council to boost EV charger network
Bury Council has announced plans to install more than 30 new EV charging points in a deal worth upwards of £9m, which will be fully funded by Be.EV. There are currently 26 publicly available charging points across Bury, and the council wants to double this number over the next two years to boost the borough’s rapid charging provision and keep up with demand. The deal with Be.EV will mean improved access to charging across the community, with the chargers spread across over 20 public sites.

The government has announced a new crackdown on anti-social behaviour, with those deemed perpetrators of anti-social behaviour to face increased fines and enhanced drug testing.
16 areas in England and Wales will receive funding either for new ‘hotspot’ police and enforcement patrols in areas with the highest rates of anti-social behaviour, or to trial a new ‘Immediate Justice’ scheme to deliver "swift and visible punishments".

A bill has been introduced to the Welsh Senedd, which would give the Welsh Government extra powers to tackle air and noise pollution.
The Environment (Air Quality and Soundscapes) (Wales) Bill is part of a package of measures intended to improve air quality in Wales.
The bill would give the Welsh Government powers to introduce new long-term targets for air quality under a national framework taking account of the latest scientific knowledge including the World Health Organisation Air Quality Guidelines.
