The Building Safety (Wales) Bill was laid before the Senedd yesterday (7th July 2025), and forms part of a wider programme of reforms to improve safety in buildings across Wales, as part of the Welsh government’s broader response to the Grenfell Tower tragedy.

The government have announced their intention to reform the Building Safety Regulator (BSR) to speed up newbuild applications being renewed, in a bid to boost development.

The government and the Environment Agency have announced over 1,000 flood schemes will be built or repaired, which makes a record £2.65 billion invested over two years to protect communities from flooding.
