The LGA has found that 525,000 tonnes of plastic pots, tubs and trays are used by households a year but just 169,145 tonnes of this waste is able to be recycled.
Kingston Council is one of the first London boroughs to agree to hold a resident ballot for its Cambridge Road Estate regeneration project.
The decision to undertake a ballot for its Cambridge Road Estate regeneration project has been welcomed by the Mayor of London, with the council having committed to the re-provision of the existing social rented homes and affordable options for existing leaseholders so that all of those who wish to stay on the estate are able to do so.
