Introducing a revolution in limescale protection using the UK designed and manufactured AquaVantage digital water treatment system. The AV treatment not only prevents limescale formation but actively dissolves existing limescale within a water system leaving pipes and appliances clean and free of scale, usually within weeks of operation. By removing any existing limescale formations the breeding grounds for bacteria, in particular Legionella, are removed resulting in a significant risk reduction of system contamination.

Carbon Trust statistics state that a 1mm build up of limescale on a heating element or heat exchanger surface requires 7% more energy to heat water. Increased thickness of scale can require up to 40% more energy to heat water. Actively removing limescale results in an energy saving, reducing energy costs and improving green credentials.

Effective range of treatment is 2km. Water remains treated for a minimum of 7 days in static water conditions.
No restriction regarding minimum or maximum flow rates. Range of units available to treat pipe sizes from 15mm diameter up to 2000mm diameter.

Swimming pools – what are the benefits of AquaVantage water treatment when fitted to a swimming pool installation?

1. pH bounce is reduced.
2. Acid, chlorine, coagulant  and sodium bicarbonate are all reduced
3. Heating energy required is significantly reduced as limescale on heat exchangers is removed restoring efficiency to optimum levels and extending the operational life of the heating plant.

WATER SOFTENER

• Needs to be physically plumbed in to water system
• Physically large using up useful storage space and requiring access for servicing
• Requires a constant supply of salt
• Removes calcium and magnesium and replaces them with sodium chloride (salt)
• Advisable not to drink softened water due to sodium content. Not suitable for watering plants. Not suitable for use in most boilers due to the corrosive effects of sodium. (Exception is the hot water side of combination boilers)
• Should be regularly serviced. Resin beads will require replacement during the operational life of the unit
• Pipework seals will require replacement during the operational lifespan of the unit
• Regular regeneration cycles will flush resin beads and discharge water into the drainage system wasting water and, on metered supplies, will cost money
• Maximum flow rates apply dependent on the model selected
• Continuous ongoing costs for salt and servicing
• Cannot remove existing limescale deposits
• Operational lifespan dependent on model and usage
