Welsh first minister Vaughan Gething has resigned from his position after four months.
The resignation comes after three Welsh government ministers and a legal advisor resigned earlier with statements calling on the first minister to resign as well. Cabinet members Mick Antoniw, Lesley Griffiths, Julie James and Jeremy Miles all handed in their resignations.
The announcement comes after a series of controversies. Gething has been criticised for accepted a £200,000 campaign donation from a businessman convicted of environmental offences.
Earlier on Tuesday, Gething released a statement explaining why he had sacked Hannah Blythyn as a minister in May, claiming she had leaked messages from a ministerial group chat to the media. Blythyn denies the claims.
The day after the sacking Plaid Cymru ended its cooperation with Gething's Labour Party citing the donation scandal.
In June, Gething lost a vote of no confidence in the Senedd.
A new leadership contest is expected in due course.
