Concrete Canvas Ltd is proud to be exhibiting at the International Security Expo for the first time, as we celebrate our 20th year in business. Since our establishment in 2005, we have pioneered a new class of construction material that has been deployed in more than 100 countries worldwide, offering sustainable, resilient, and cost-effective alternatives to traditional concrete.
Concrete Canvas Ltd manufactures four award-winning products based on its core material technology; they are a new, innovative class of materials called GCCM’s - Geosynthetic Cementitious Composite Mats. GCCMs are flexible, concrete-filled geotextiles that harden on hydration to form thin, durable, waterproof, and lower carbon concrete layers. Essentially, it’s Concrete on a Roll™. Our products can be installed without mixing or measuring, using basic hand tools with minimal training. Rapid installation, even in remote or hard-to-reach areas where access for heavy plant or machinery is limited, makes them particularly well-suited for critical security infrastructure. Our products offer a design life of between 50 and 120 years, with our CCT products achieving a BBA-certified durability of up to 120 years.
Within the security sector, Concrete Canvas provides several advantages. Weed suppression is a prime example: uncontrolled vegetation around fences or access points can compromise sterile zones, interfere with surveillance equipment, or trigger false alarms. Concrete Canvas eliminates this risk, offering long-term, maintenance-free protection that ensures perimeter security systems remain effective and reliable.
The material also plays a vital role in protecting existing assets. By preventing vegetation growth around pipelines, cables, and access structures, Concrete Canvas reduces the need for repeated maintenance interventions, thereby lowering operational costs, extending asset life, and minimising risk of damage to sensitive infrastructure.
Equally, Concrete Canvas can improve and secure site access. From stairwells and embankments to trackside infrastructure, it delivers robust, low-maintenance surfaces that remain free from vegetation, ensuring safe and reliable access for inspection and security personnel.
In every application, the benefits are clear: Concrete Canvas is faster and cleaner to install than traditional concrete, significantly reduces carbon footprint, and provides durable, long-lasting protection. As a physical barrier that strengthens perimeter protection strategies, it is an invaluable addition to the layered defence systems that secure critical national infrastructure.
As we mark two decades of innovation, Concrete Canvas continues to redefine what is possible in concrete technology, supporting the security industry with solutions that are proven, practical, and created to last.
