London Councils launches sustainable neighbourhood model

London Councils has launched a new sustainable neighbourhood model to showcase the benefits of a circular economy.

The model illustrates how circular economy principles can create more sustainable and resilient communities in London, while at the same time, highlighting real-life examples that are already making a positive impact by reducing consumption emissions and promoting sustainability in the capital.

Residents can use the model's interactive map to explore different circular economy activities taking place in London, such as repair and reuse centres; local food-growing projects; and circular business models.

Users are also able to find out how the initiatives are helping reduce emissions and foster community resilience.

The model has been launched in reflection of London’s leadership in addressing climate change by encouraging circular practices, which are key to achieving the city's target of becoming net-zero carbon by 2030.
