Sue Robb of 4Children talks to Julie Laughton and Alison Britton from the Department for Education about the role of childminders in delivering the 30 hours free entitlement.
Construction hoardings will soon be put in place in the main reception area of the Council House in preparation for the start of the Ground Floor redevelopment project.
The redevelopment is part of the council’s plans to improve Derby residents’ experience by providing more public services under one roof, by making better use of space in the Council House, and through generating income for the council. The project will help the council to further develop partnerships with other public services such as Job Centre Plus.
Other benefits associated with the redevelopment include improved security to make visits to the Council House safer, a new fully accessible meeting room and improved customer interview rooms for those who need to visit to access services.
During this time, a new temporary reception desk will be in operation, and visitors will have access to the building via the main door as usual.
There will also be changes to the availability and location of self-service computers and customer service booths. Information will be made available within the temporary reception area and meet and greet staff will be on hand to assist with queries.
The city council is asking for customers, where possible, to make use of its online services whilst the construction hoardings are in place.
