Industrial Strategy adviser appointed

The Chancellor has appointed growth and productivity expert Dr Anna Valero as an Industrial Strategy advisor.

Dr Valero is a Distinguished Policy Fellow at the London School of Economics and will advise Rachel Reeves as a sector and industrial policy expert. She has previously worked as part of the Chancellor’s Council of Economic Advisers, where she was extensively involved in the development and publication of the Industrial Strategy White Paper and Sector Plans.

In this new part-time unpaid role, she will report directly to the Chancellor as a direct ministerial appointment.
