North of Tyne Combined Authority has announced that it is working with the Energy Saving Trust to develop a housing stock database.
Alongside its three local authorities, North of Tyne Combined Authority has ambitions of becoming national leaders in the pursuit of net zero emissions and the creation of good green jobs.
However, over 40 per cent of the housing stock in the region falls below an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) band of C, which according to EST estimates, equates to 140,000 homes that will require some form of retrofit.
The housing stock database will inform ambitious decarbonisation plans with retrofit scenario modelling, job creation figures and funding options analysis in the North of Tyne.
