Hereford seeks more local involvement in children services

Herefordshire Council is set to consider the future use of its children’s centres as it seeks to meet new demand on services.

Due to discuss the matter at a cabinet meeting on 14 September, the council will plan to keep the services offered at children’s services available, but hopes that local schools and nurseries will make greater use of the buildings, and the provision of multi-use sites.

It has been proposed that four buildings of the current ten buildings will be operated by schools or nurseries, four buildings remaining the same, and the last two buildings relocating services to be shared with libraries or other under-occupied buildings.
