New chief executive appointed at Homes England
Amy Rees CB has been appointed chief executive of Homes England.
In her new role, Rees will lead the Agency’s mission to tackle the housing crisis and accelerate the delivery of 1.5 million new homes this Parliament.
Rees has previously worked in public service, holding the role of chief executive of His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS). She also previously served as as interim permanent secretary at the Ministry of Justice, where she led Whitehall’s largest department through spending review negotiations and major operational reforms, chief executive of Prisons and Probation and director general for Probation, Wales and Youth Justice
As chief executive of Homes England, Rees will report to the Homes England Board and will be accountable to the Deputy Prime Minister, the Housing Minister and Parliament.
As part of the role, she will be overseeing a regionalised operating model designed to enhance housing outcomes across England and the launch of the new National Housing Bank, unlocking more than £53 billion of private investment, to supercharge housing delivery.
