Welsh first minister announces new cabinet

Eluned Morgan, the newly appointed first minister of Wales, has announced a reshuffle of the cabinet.

Former first minister Mark Drakeford is returning to government after being appointed as health secretary.

Morgan also confirmed the appointment of climate change and rural affairs secretary Huw Irranca-Davies as deputy first minister.

She said he would "support me in my role as first minister and will work alongside me to deliver for the people for Wales".

As well as this, Lynne Neagle will take the position of secretary for education, and Dawn Bowden has been appointed secretary for social care.

A full reshuffle is expected in the autumn.

Morgan has replaced Vaughan Gething as first minister, after he resigned last month when four members of his cabinet quit their jobs and Ms Morgan was elected unopposed as Welsh Labour leader.

She is the first woman to hold the position in Wales.
