The Scottish Borders Council is considering plans to develop existing cycling events and build on consumer demand.
The council has unveiled a five-year plan intended to boost cycling tourism in the region by promoting existing cycling events such as TweedLove, the Tour o' the Borders and the Enduro World Series.
The news comes after research by Visit Scotland showed cyclists and mountain bikers spent more than £155 million in 2015.
