Dumfries and Galloway Council staff experience delay in wages

A number of staff employed by Dumfries and Galloway Council have been affected by a delay in their wages being paid into their bank accounts.

The local authority issues a statement maintaining that it was aware of an issue with salary payments due to be paid on the the 15 November. It said a ‘relatively small number’ of account transfers were delayed at the banks and building societies.

The news comes after the council previously apologised over taking direct debit payments from customers ahead of their usual scheduled date.

The local authority assured that the issue had been resolved and the cause of the error was now being investigated.
