Success of Safetech’s Guardian Ultra.

It’s been three years since Safetech launched Guardian Ultra, their latest intelligent automatic personnel protection system, which features extensive upgrades, improvements and additions. Despite the global difficulties of these recent years, the product has been a world-wide success. And even though international travel has been challenging, Safetech have continued to support their customers with new installations and maintenance.

Guardian Ultra uses the latest technology to create an extremely versatile and reliable system, which complies with all legal essential health and safety requirements. A PL-d was achieved and validated by an independent test house.

Radio frequency identification uses state of the art digital signal processing techniques to achieve high resilience against background electronic noise. Sophisticated self-checking is used to monitor the RF field up to 10 times a second enabling any degrade in the system to be detected immediately. Real time data logging is achieved by sensors constantly monitoring the safety circuit status. Full diagnostics and system status LEDs give immediate feedback to the operator.

One of the significant new features is intelligent detector belt identification. The latest version of the Detector Belt Test Unit has been refined to give sophisticated digital monitoring and reporting. There is no limit to the number of people that one Guardian Ultra system can protect.

Although Guardian Ultra is a highly improved and refined system, the basic principle behind Safetech products has always been the same – to prevent injuries automatically and reliably. Guardian is suitable for protecting personnel in a wide range of processes, including applications in refuse recycling, paper, board, plastic and metal handling, and many manufacturing and engineering functions.

Anyone working near the hazardous area wears a Guardian detector belt. These are light, comfortable and easy to wear, constructed to withstand harsh industrial environments and visually distinctive to help safety enforcement. Detection is not impaired by body mass and material. If someone wearing a detector belt enters the hazardous area, a signal is instantly sent to the Guardian Control System, which sounds an alarm and activates the emergency stop procedure.

Guardian Ultra represents a massive leap forward in personnel protection technology. As more and more employers realise the need to improve their safety systems, it seems fairly sure that Safetech will continue to grow and expand their global presence. Many retailers, both online and traditional,  have specified that Guardian will be included in all their recycling facilities.
