Working in all UK sectors and industries, our team provide impartial asbestos inspection, testing, management and consultancy services, supporting our clients in maintaining compliance with the Control of Asbestos Regulations (2012), achieving their project objectives regarding the management of risk posed from asbestos containing materials.

Our Capabilities

We have held our UKAS ISO 17020 (inspection) and ISO 17025 (testing) accreditations continuously since 2003, demonstrating our continued independence, impartiality and integrity in the industry. Asbestos inspection, testing and consultancy services represents 100% of our £24m annual turnover (2019/20).

With over 380 full time staff dedicated to providing asbestos consultancy, inspection and testing services, including over 220 BOHS qualified Surveyors and Analysts, our team is the largest technical resource of any asbestos consultancy in the UK. On-site services are supported by our Operational Support and Laboratory Services team which includes over 50 administrators dedicated to analysing bulk samples, processing survey data, carrying out quality control and annotating site/floor plans. Our laboratory is the largest in the UK and Europe, which can process up to 1,200 samples a day and is staffed by over 30 BOHS P401 qualified laboratory analysts.

To support delivery of our services nationally and internationally, we operate out of 12 UK based offices and a further 4 international offices, so our service delivery is efficient, ensuring a local service for our clients, globally.

  • UKAS ISO 17020 accredited asbestos management, refurbishment/demolition and re-inspection surveys in-line with HSG 264 and HSG 248 guidance
  • UKAS ISO 17025 accredited air monitoring and clearance testing in-line with HSG 248 guidance
  • UKAS ISO 17025 accredited bulk and soils analysis of materials in-line with HSG 248 guidance, using Polarised Light Microscopy (PLM) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) testing methods
  • Project management of asbestos remediation works in line with CDM 2015 and HSG 277 guidance
  • Asbestos consultancy, advice and guidance for corporate policy and procedure development, asbestos management plans, gap analysis and compliance audits in-line with HSG277 guidance

We work with many Public Sector clients using the available frameworks such as North of England Commercial Procurement Collaborative (NOECPC), North East Procurement Organisation (NEPO), Rise Construction Framework , Fusion 21, LHC, LGSS, PAGABO.

Procuring through frameworks provides a quick and effective route to market for estate and compliance teams in the public sector and allows them to procure expert services using framework terms and conditions and without conducting separate tendering exercises. We also welcome direct awards outside of frameworks.

Our Lucion NexGen Asbestos Portal is provided to all clients free of charge and is an online platform that uses live data, allowing you to access and use your asbestos risk data at any time 24/7 from any internet capable device. We can also transfer asbestos data from our system to a system of your choice and have worked with all main systems on the market. Notably, we have significant experience of working with the MiCAD system and have a team of trained MiCAD administrators who are dedicated to the update and maintenance of our client’s Micad systems.
