2011 Budget sets out £100m for new science facilities

The Coalition Government have set out an additional £100m to be invested in new science facilities in the 2011 Budget.

The money, again from this year's extra bank levy, will see new facilities at the Babraham Research Campus in Cambridge, The Norwich Research Park for environmental and life sciences, the International Space Innovation Centre at Harwell and the National Science and Innovation Campus at Daresbury.

Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osborne, said: "Science is one area where Britain already has an advantage over many other countries – and it is central to our future as a place to create businesses."
