‘Better Connected 2015’ found that only 42 per cent of council sites met the Better Connected standards, representing a ten per cent decrease from 2014, which the report categorises as ‘significant deterioration’.
Only 44 per cent of council sites were rated with three or above stars and while the number of four star sites increased by two, the number of three star sites decreased by 13.
The research did find a ‘significant improvement’ in accessibility, with 43 per cent of sites reaching the standard, compared to 26 per cent in 2014, as well as a ‘minor improvement’ of three per cent in the use of A to Z indexes.
