Local gov services to start using GOV.UK Pay

The Government Digital Service (GDS) is to start offering GOV.UK Pay to local government, helping local authorities to access the secure online payment service.

The system has processed almost half a million payments, with a total value of £22.3 million, for central government service teams since it’s inception.

The process will allow local government to take online card payments and issue refunds, ensure their payment experience meets the Digital Service Standard and use payment processes that are fully Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliant.
