£2.15m rural housing development for Polruan

A new £2.15m rural housing development has been completed in Polruan, near Fowey, Cornwall.

15 new properties at Kendall Park will be managed by Sanctuary Shafesbury and will offer high quality affordable homes to local people.

There will be a mixture of two, three and four bedroom houses available for rent.

The development was possible thanks to part funding from the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA), who invested £1.125m through the National Affordable Housing Programme, and the combined efforts of Sanctuary, Cornwall Council, consultants and contractors Rosemullion Homes and Lanteglos Parish Council.

All homes have been built to Level 3 of the Code for Sustainable Homes and include energy efficient features such as high levels of insulation and air source heat pumps, which are designed to reduce energy costs for residents.

The HCA's rural and communities manager Matt Dodd added: 'We want to ensure that these communities are sustainable and continue to thrive, and rural affordable housing plays a vital role in this."
