Since it’s opening in 1991, the ICC has become one of Europe’s most high profile and well-connected conference centres. After 26 years, the iconic venue now holds over 400 events a year, attracting around 350,000 delegates from all over the world. And it is firmly focused on the future as it completes phase two of a £10m refurbishment programme that has included a facelift to its largest flat-floored space, new digital screens, updates in several halls and the refurbishment of the executive meeting rooms.

The venue’s longevity is thanks to many factors, but central to it is the truly passionate and experienced team that work with event organisers and delegates day-in day-out.

They know that you never get a second chance to make a good first impression and believe in working in true partnership with clients. With excellent customer service, support from in-house logistic and technical event managers along with exquisite food from award-winning caterers Amadeus, the experienced ICC team consistently delivers breath-taking events with the customer experience at the heart of all decisions. Our teams will work alongside you, offering expertise and knowledge every step of the way.

The ICC receives incredible feedback form both organisers and delegates, with 97% of organisers saying they would bring another event to the venue as well as a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence achieved for having an average 4.5 out of 5 score from delegates.

The ICC has a variety of spaces that allow events to grow and evolve over time. The venue can host all types of events, from a small meeting for two to an 8,000 strong conference or banquet for up to 1,700.

Here at the ICC, size doesn’t matter to us as we put the same passion into every event, whether it’s for 80 or 8,000. Being a purpose-built venue means that our flexible spaces can provide solutions for events of all sizes and types, with many areas being sound-proofed with exclusive registration areas for privacy. Hall 1 offers a tiered auditorium and immense staging area for up to 1,500 delegates; Hall 3 is a great expansive space able to host banquets for up to 1,700 and Hall 4 offers generous natural daylight. The lower capacity halls are perfect for events of up to 350 people leaving you spoilt for choice with halls also having dedicated foyers and exclusive areas and high-specification technical equipment.

The 10 executive meeting rooms are airy, spacious and light, capable of hosting meetings from as little as five people to as many as 50. Different room layouts are available for greater flexibility, while banqueting for up to 40 can be accommodated in the larger executive rooms.

Events at the ICC can take full advantage of the incredibly flexible and exciting dining options and packages provided by our fantastic in-house catering team, the award-winning Amadeus. Setting the benchmark for catering excellence in the live events industry, we are proud to have recently become the first conference centre in the UK to gain accreditation from Food for the Brain – an educational charity which promotes the importance of nutrition in mental health and well-being. The accreditation recognises Amadeus’s achievements in offering nutritionally balanced menus whilst also retaining choice, and all with tasty ingredients. The menus are aimed at keeping delegates engaged and focused, looking to boost energy levels, improve concentration and support performance.

The ICC has excellent connectivity due to its position at the heart of the country, with 90% of the UK’s population living within a 4 hour journey time of the venue. Our Birmingham city centre location makes us an ideal venue for bringing delegate together, with unrivalled road, rail and air links. In fact, events held at the ICC often see a boost in delegate numbers thanks our central location and easy transport access.

Events at the ICC can also take advantage of being in the heart of Birmingham’s vibrant city centre. As a city, Birmingham competes on a global scale, having seen years of investment and development to become a dynamic, diverse and ambitious international destination. Birmingham attracts over 1 million international visitors each year, and during the last year, the city saw the highest number of international business visitors to any UK city outside of London.

The city’s lifestyle offer only adds to the experience that delegates will have at the ICC. During downtime from events at the ICC, delegates can immerse themselves in Birmingham’s world-class culture and discover the city’s rich heritage. Delegates can also indulge in our food scene, and take some time out to enjoy the city’s many exciting attractions. There is also a jam-packed calendar of festivals and events covering music, film, art, sport and more so delegates will certainly be able to make the most of their time in the city.
