Hadfield Wood Recyclers

Hadfield Wood Recyclers is one of the UK’s oldest and largest wood recycling companies. With more than three decades of experience in the wood recycling industry, it is no surprise it’s a market leader in all that it does.

In 2015 Hadfield Wood Recyclers celebrated its 35th anniversary, having been awarded the accolade of the 9th fastest growing business in the waste and recycling sector just months before.

Last year saw continued success for the wood recycler as it secured a RoSPA Gold Award for Health and Safety.

Hadfield Wood Recyclers specialises in recycling all grades of non hazardous waste wood in to a range of recycled products including animal bedding for horses and poultry, feedstock for the panel board industry and biomass fuel.

The company handles waste wood for many national and international waste management companies, local authorities and other public sector bodies, as well as businesses from all industries including construction, waste and retail.

Having initially recycled wood into the panel board industry, it branched into animal beddings and then entered the biomass market around ten years ago. This enabled the recycler to take all grades of waste wood, which differentiated it from other companies in the marketplace and allowed lower grades of wood to be diverted from landfill.

Hadfield Wood Recyclers has recently broadened its support of the waste and recycling industry by becoming a business partner of the Chartered Institute of Waste Management and sponsoring the body’s recent Presidential Inauguration and dinner. It is also a regular supporter of LARAC as well as other industry conferences, events and award ceremonies.

Vicki Hughes, Group Business Development Manager at Hadfield Wood Recyclers said: “As a company we don’t like to sit still. We have grown from a small family business to one of the country’s largest wood recyclers, operating from three sites in the UK and exporting our products to Europe.

“Being able to give back to the industry is a key part of who we are. Our culture at Hadfield is to continuously learn, and we focus strongly on staff development. As a company we feel a responsibility to share that knowledge with the wider industry to help it grow and improve going forward.”
